Bulk Change for Service Item

This tool is used to update a specific Service Item for all customers that are currently receiving that Service.

  • For example, if 30 customers are receiving a 95 Gallon Roll Cart service, this tool can update every customer's service to a 65 Gallon Roll Cart.
    • A Customer List filter is available to narrow down specific conditions for which customers should receive a Service Item change.

  • Select a Current Service Area from the drop down list.
  • Select a Current Service Item that will be updated.
  • Select a Change Service Date for when this change will take affect.
  • Use the Customer List tool to select specific parameters for which customers will have their services updated.
    • Leave all boxes blank to select ALL customers with the specified Service Item.
  • Select 'Search' to populate a list of customers with the specified Service Item.

  • Select a New Service Item that will replace the specified Service Item.
Verify that all accounts and changes listed are correct before updating their items as there is no 'Rollback' feature for this change. Any changes will have to be reversed manually.
  • Select 'Change Service Item' to complete the update.

  • A pane will update with the number of Service Items changed and True/False values.
    • Changed = True indicates the change was successful.
    • Prorate = True indicates the services have been prorated to reflect the updated charges for the new Service Items.
      • Prorate will always be True if the Change Service Date is set to the current or future billing months.
    • Retroactive Prorate = True indicates that the previous Service Item had already been billed to the customer and a prorated amount has been credited retroactively.
      • Retroactive Prorate will only be True if the Service Item has already been posted to the customer's bill.
